Trump’s Storm of Hot Air: Kamala’s No-Show Scandal

Oh boy, Trump’s back on Truth Social, throwing a tantrum because Kamala Harris isn’t down there in the flood zone left behind by Helene, with her sleeves rolled up, personally bailing out people’s basements with a bucket. Apparently, the Vice President isn’t allowed to be in San Francisco, doing her job, because if she’s not posing for disaster selfies in a raincoat, she’s failing the country. Classic Trump logic—if there’s no photo op, did you even help?

Look, the last thing those folks need right now is for Harris to show up with her entourage, shutting down roads so she can stand in front of some wreckage and look concerned for five minutes. We’ve got FEMA down there handling business—the actual experts, mind you—not someone flying in to toss out blankets like it’s a fire drill. But sure, let’s pretend the solution to every natural disaster is to send the VP in like some kind of superhero with a FEMA cape.

And then Trump goes off about San Francisco, acting like Kamala’s personally burning the place down between fundraiser speeches. I mean, come on, man, she’s not out there bulldozing the city with a wrecking ball. She’s working—just not in a disaster zone because there are, you know, actual people trained to do that.

But of course, Trump’s gotta throw in his favorite line: “Worst VP in history.” Right, because clearly her value as Vice President comes down to how many times she can show up in a flooded town. I don’t remember him rushing to criticize his buddies when they were playing golf during a crisis. Oh, wait—maybe he’s mad because she’s not down there throwing rolls of paper towels. Give me a break!

Here’s the deal: FEMA’s on the ground doing what they’re supposed to do. Sending Harris down there for a few staged handshakes and a couple of sad faces doesn’t speed up recovery—it just makes more noise. But Trump? Nah, he’d rather have her down there performing a political Broadway show while the rest of us get on with fixing the actual problems.
