Meet

Irma Gasser

Irma Gasser may have grown up in a series of foster homes in Lubbock, Texas, but she’s far from your typical Texan. Born in an INS detention facility to migrant workers from Guatemala, Irma entered the world with the odds stacked against her and immediately into the social services system. She never knew her parents, but that didn’t stop her from carving out a path to success.

In high school, Irma’s sharp mind and determination caught the eye of a guidance counselor who helped her secure scholarships, allowing her to attend college. She went on to earn a master’s degree in international relations, where she combined her deep understanding of global dynamics with a passion for justice. It was on a spring break trip to Ibiza that Irma met her husband, a military recruiter, adding another layer to her already complex worldview.

Irma’s career in the government was promising, but when she hit the glass ceiling, she knew it was time for a change. Tired of simplifying reports about international affairs, for less thoughtful people than herself, she decided to have a real influence instead. Now, as a political proctologist at Political Colonoscopy, Irma brings her rapier wit and scholar’s diligence to the task of calling out global nonsense wherever it appears.

If there’s something going on in the world that needs a seasoned proctologist’s touch, Irma Gasser is on it—bringing her unique blend of humor, insight, and unrelenting truth-seeking to every analysis. From her humble beginnings to her current role, Irma brings an entirely human edge to her analysis.
